From the coastal holiday town of Almuñecar, drive the old Granada road for just 15 minutes or so, winding as you go through the Valle Tropical. Passing on the roadside orchards of avocado, lemon, orange, nisporo and chirimoya - you will come upon the little white pueblo of Jeté.

Our apartment is on the ground floor of a charming country cottage set in 10,000 square metres of fruit trees.

"We have planted a variety of fruit trees with an emphasis on "everything organic". If your are fortunate enough to be here during the harvest, you will enjoy everything from bananas and oranges to avocado directly from the trees."

The apartment is very private with its own entrance.

There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms, each bedroom with private terrace and spectacular views.

The entire property has been recently refurbished with excellent taste and in sympathy with the Andalucian character of the original building.

The lounge is spacious and opens seamlessly to the covered patio which is equally well furnished.

The patio in turn has the most spectacular views down the valley as far as the Mediterranean Sea. It has a large gas barbecue for "al fresco" dining.

Your kitchen is fitted in keeping with a country lifestyle, albeit very modern. The equipment consists of a gas 4 burner hob, French style electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, large fridge freezer, kettle, coffee makers and every utensil you will need to make your stay comfortable.

The washing machine is on the terrace.

The location of the cottage, close to the little villages of Jeté, Molvizar, Otivar and Lenteji offer the choice of some really interesting local restaurants. The renowned Capriccio, the Buena Vista and the Meson Bar Madera serving mainly local produce are all worth a visit. All of these villages still remain predominantly dependent on local agriculture.

For walkers and wild life enthusiasts the Sierra Almijara and the foothills of the Sierra Nevada offer some of the most wonderful walks all year round. This is a bird watcher's paradise. We regularly see Kestrels, Brown Eagles, Hoopoe birds, Honey Buzzards and many small varieties seldom seen in Northern Europe these days. We overlook Peña Escrita where there is a wild life park. For golfers, Motril Golf is only 10 minutes drive.

Whatever your interest, if you enjoy the peace of the countryside and being at one with nature, you will certainly fall in love with this wonderful area.

Places to visit include: Granada, Nerja, Salobrena, Motril, Carchuna, Alpujarras, La Herradura, Marina del Este, Motril Golf and the ski resort of Sierra Nevada.
